Change domain name of your computer without unjoining?

Is there any way to change the computer name without the domain unjoining (XP Pro)? because I wan to retain the current user forms profile.any as changing some settings in the registry?

You can change the computer name without the domain unjoining, but you will to supply the user name and password for the administrator. To keep things clean should remove the old computer name of the dns. Just be sure to change the Your host name for that is something that is no longer used in the network or have problems. Anyway no need to abandon the community to change the domain name of the pc.
